Privacy Policy

Overview

This site is operated by Rachel K. Thorne (the “data controller”) as the official online home of her novels. We collect only what we need to keep the site running, share new releases with subscribers, and understand which corners of the world readers are visiting from. Questions or requests can go to privacy@rachelkthorne.com.

Data we collect

  • Analytics events. Anonymized usage data (page views, scroll depth, outbound clicks) gathered through Google Analytics 4 — only after you grant consent in the cookie banner.
  • Newsletter email. Your email address when you subscribe to the Crimson Chronicles newsletter, stored with our delivery partner Kit (formerly ConvertKit).
  • Server logs. Standard hosting logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp) retained briefly by our host for operational and security purposes.

Third parties

  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymous traffic analytics. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Kit (ConvertKit) — newsletter delivery. See Kit’s privacy policy.
  • Sanity.io — content storage for posts and book pages.
  • Vercel — site hosting and request logging.

Cookies & tracking

The site does not set analytics or tracking cookies until you accept the cookie banner. Your choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key rkt-consent-v1. You can revisit your decision at any time:

Changes to this policy

When we make material changes to this policy we update the effective date above and increment the consent storage version, which re-prompts existing visitors. Minor edits (typos, clarifications) won’t trigger a re-prompt.
